Gillette Launches Great Start Coaching Programme 2014

20/5/2014

Picture
Applications are now open for the 2014 Great Start Programme, that supports coaches by giving them the opportunity to apply for grants. Great Start grants are available to both aspiring and amateur coaches who wish to further their qualifications. You can apply for grants via the brand’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/GilletteUK

The scheme, that is run in partnership with sports coach UK, was this year launched by Gillette brand ambassador Joe Hart. Gillette is also continuing to support the UK Coaching Awards, hosted by sports coach UK, which celebrate the role of coaching in encouraging participation, performance and excellence. As part of the Great Start Programme Gillette is offering people the chance to nominate a coach who deserves recognition for their work for the UK Community Coach of the Year Award.

Gillette’s ongoing partnership with sports coach UK is part of the brand’s continued commitment to help support coaching development. To view the press release from the launch please click here.

All England Netball Association Youth Trust Fundraisers required

8/4/2014

Picture
The Trust was established in 1984 as a charitable trust. It is a non-profit making educational charity, registered with the Charities Commission and its aims are to support individuals and organisations in the development of sport for young people (u21). To date the Trust has supported a wide range of projects from contributions towards development/improvement of facilities, contributions for equipment for newly established clubs, bursaries for attendees on relevant courses and contributions towards the relocation costs of England players for their education and netball training.

Due to its expenditure on deserving projects and the decrease in income, the Trust currently does not have the resources to continue as an effective provider of financial support for the development of sport for young people. The Trust has therefore been looking at alternative sources of funding, one of which is fundraising- the objective would be to generate a minimum of £10,000 per annum (net of costs etc). If you have fundraising expertise and are interested in fundraising for the Youth Trust please contact the Trust on aenayouthtrust@btinternet.com by 30th April 2014.

England Netball Junior Club Starter Fund

28/11/2013

Picture
Over the last four years we have been working hard to provide more opportunities for young people to play netball in the community by developing new junior clubs and sections around the country. Young people have told us that they want more opportunities to play netball in the community so we want to continue to support the development of new clubs to do this.

Aim
  • To provide more opportunities for juniors to play in community netball clubs
  • To support existing adult clubs to develop junior sections and new junior clubs to be developed in areas with limited playing opportunities.
  • To contribute to the 10,000 new participants per year as part of our 10:1:1 strategy.
  • To provide some financial support to contribute to starting new clubs or sections.

Who can apply?
  • Any existing affiliated adult clubs wishing to start up a junior or U11 section.
  • Any group of people interested in establishing a junior club for either juniors (12-18 year olds) or U11 players.
