Attend B Award course The Region hold one or two course per year depending on demand and are usually in September. All county Umpiring Secretaries (CUS) will advertise the courses, as will the Region. Courses are also advertised on the England Netball website. |

Once you have some good match practice, start practising for your written paper. Speak to your County Umpiring Secretary or the Regional Umpiring Secretary. Try the practice papers on the England netball website |
Written assessment Once you are confident with your practice papers, apply for your written paper and speak to either the Regional or County umpiring Secretary. Written assessments are taken three times a year; February, May and November. The dates are set by Netball Europe and are usually the second weekend of the month. These dates are non-negotiable. Plan ahead to make sure you will be available on the Saturday or Sunday. There will be many other events going on in the Region and a specific day or time cannot be guaranteed. Allow plenty of time as the paper takes 2 hours. |

Applying for B Award Practical assessment Once your Mentor or an Assessor has said you are ready for a pre- assessment, contact the Regional Umpiring Secretary to arrange this. Once you have passed this the RUS will set up the practical assessment for you. There will be an application form to complete, a test fee and just prior to the assessment, you will need to complete the bleep test to a level of 6.1 |
Congratulations you are a B award umpire! Once you have passed your B Award, take the time to enjoy your achievement. Do not rush in to making decisions on what you will or will not do next. |
