C Award Course

AIM
• To prepare umpires with knowledge of rules and umpire competencies / protocols to umpire at either junior / youth and adult club level.
OUTCOMES TO BE ACHIEVED ON THE COURSE
• To be able to apply the rules and control
• the game by:
- Penalising correctly obvious infringements of the rules
- Showing correct use of whistle, voice and terminology
- Positioning and movement
- Appearance and manner.
- To keep an accurate scorecard and call the score (when Table Officials not provided)
• To identify the requirements for the England Netball 'C' Award• Prepare candidates for testing process

WHO CAN ATTEND?
Young people 12 years old and adults who have attended the Beginner Umpiring course of who have umpiring experience at League level
DURATION OF THE COURSE
Total of 6 hours + refreshment breaks
Delivered as 1 x 6 hour or 3x2 or 2x3 hour sessions
DOES THE COURSE HAVE AN ASSESSMENT?
No - candidates need to gain further practical experience on proper match play and then apply for formal assessment/testing
C’ Award courses are organised upon demand in each County. Courses will be advertised on the Regional Website. If you are interested in doing a ‘C’ award course then register your interest with your county Umpiring Secretary
