Falcons made some changes through the midcourt and defence to tighten things up. However, it was Norfolk who shut down the space, forcing Falcons’ attack into errors. Falcons adapted their game plan, which bore some fruit but their main issue was maintaining any momentum they built up. The quarter ended Norfolk 28-17 Falcons Black.
Falcons only needed five turnovers to level the scores and they made some progress, keeping Norfolk at bay through some successful turnovers and tips to the ball. However, Norfolk’s physicality began to show and the quarter ended Norfolk 38-24 Falcons Black.
Norfolk changed their attack, which gave Falcons the incentive they needed. The Loughborough team pulled the score back to within 7 goals but just as they needed to push on, their ball retention was not as consistent as it needed to be, which allowed Norfolk to pull away again. The final score was Norfolk 50-38 Falcons Black.
Norfolk nominated Falcons Black’s Olivia Mason as their ‘Player of the Match’ while the Coach’s ‘Player of the Match’ went to Kathryn Binks.
