FALCONS YELLOW BOUNCE BACK

7/10/2013

Following their defeat against Nottingham City Aces, Falcons Yellow notch up their first win against Leapoole in another tough battle.

The away team welcomed back Tamsin Mason and Alex Wood-Davis, who first played for the club when she was 16 years old.
Falcons Yellow took time to gel during the first quarter but worked hard and went in at the break drawing on 11 goals each.
The second quarter saw Leapoole get their noses in front and go into the half time break one goal up.

Falcons Yellow made some changes at half time: Holt replaced Mason at WD, Brennan moved to WA and Davis came on at Centre. The Derbyshire team fought hard to stay within touching distance of Leapoole, who had moved three goals clear going into the third quarter break.

The final quarter was at times a scrappy affair but Falcons Yellow dug deep and applied pressure down the court. This forced Leapoole into errors, allowing the away team to turn the ball over and give their attack shooting opportunities, which were duly converted.

Moorhouse had an outstanding match – working hard throughout and combining well with Wood-Davis. The pair were shooting well and by the time the final whistle came, the turnaround was complete.

Falcons Yellow fought hard for their first win on returning to Regional League Division 1.

The final score Leapoole 44-49 Falcons Yellow.

Player of the match was given to Keri Moorhouse.

Falcons Yellow Squad: Alex Wood-Davis (GS), Keri Moorhouse (GA), Jo Holt (WA), Mel Brennan (C), Tamsin Mason (WD), Samantha Brown (GD), Beth Jackson (GK) and Emma Davis (sub – C)
