Lincoln City have reformed this season and now have just one team in the Regional League Division 2.
Alongside a mix of both last year’s first and second team players, Lincoln welcomed back Abby Johnson and introduced newbie Becky Baker, who had a great debut, being named by the opposition as the ‘Player of the Match’.

After a nervous first centre, Lincoln dominated the first quarter. Great feeds from Laura Forsey and Beth Richardson to the excellent, new shooting combination of Amy Womersley and Becky, meant the Imps went into the break 15-5 ahead.
Both teams started the second quarter well but Lincoln’s defensive duo of Lucy Heathershaw and Lizzie Saywell alongside WD Vic Adams proved too strong. The three players made numerous rebounds and interceptions to deny TFC Too a chance to come back and the quarter ended 33-8.
In the third quarter, and with a comfortable lead, Lincoln made three substitutions throughout the court; Jade Houlton came on at GD, Abby Johnson replaced Beth Richardson at C and Anna Gilbert went to GS with Becky Baker moving to GA. The changes helped the Imps increase the number of interceptions they made during the quarter, whilst Anna Gilbert and Becky Baker managed to find the goal twenty more times to increase the lead to 53-12.
Angie White made an appearance in the final quarter to help extend Lincoln’s lead, assisted by Laura and Abby’s consistent feeds. The final score was 69-19. An impressive start to the season to which the Imps thanked new coach, Karen Baker.
