Lincoln City Netball Club's Regional teams took the court on Sunday for their first matches of the 12/13 season in the East Midlands Netball Regional League Division One and Two hosted at Loughborough University Netball Centre.
It started with Lincoln City B team taking to the court for a 1pm start against Derby team, Iceni. Lincoln showed a very promising start and were very eager to put in a good fight. As the match progressed, Iceni took control of the game and it stayed that way throughout each quarter. Even though the gutsy performance of Lincoln City managed to scrape back some of the deficit that Iceni had created it was not enough on this occasion for Lincoln and Iceni went onto a convincing victory of 65-26. That said there were many positives that Lincoln will take from this match, and will work hard to rectify the costly mistakes in training.
On the other hand Lincoln City A put in a good solid start to their season against newly promoted Northants JMs. Their win of 48-37 was also helped with newly promoted player Emily Coulter (picture featured) who played her first game for the A team. All players ensured that Lincoln stayed ahead at each quarter and hopefully this mentality will set them in good stead for the season ahead. Well done girls!
