East Midlands Regional Round of the National Schools

The National Schools Competition is a national competition organised by England Netball to enable schools to compete against each other to determine a national winner in each age group (U14, U16 and U19) whilst encouraging participation in netball through an open, fair and transparent competition.

Each county nominates its winners and runners-up from each age group to compete in the regional round and the winners and runners up from the region go forward to the national finals.

The 2026 East Midlands Regional Finals took place at the end of January, showcasing an exciting few days of high‑quality school netball across the East Midlands. Each age group delivered competitive matches and impressive performances, with teams battling for a coveted place at the National Schools Finals. The winners and runners‑up in each age group have now secured their qualification for nationals.

Trent College claimed the U19 title, Branston emerged victorious in the U16 competition, and Saint Martins topped the U14 category. The runners‑up joining them at nationals are Uppingham (U19), Oundle (U16), and Prince William (U14). All teams demonstrated exceptional skill, determination and sportsmanship throughout the event, and will now go on to represent the region on the national stage.

The National Schools Finals, in association with the British Army, will be held on 14th (U16), 15th (U19) and 21st (U14) March 2026. The top 18 teams in the under 14, under 16 and under 19 age groups from across each region will compete to be crowned national champions.

To enter please contact your County Netball Association as early rounds begin in September. Your school must join or renew your England Netball Schools membership to compete.

Celebrating Our Teachers

At East Midlands Netball, we know that the heart of netball in schools beats thanks to the dedication and passion of our teachers. They inspire young athletes, foster teamwork, and create an environment where netball can thrive. As we look ahead to 2025, we encourage everyone to keep an eye out for the opening of nominations for the Teacher of the Year Award. This is a fantastic opportunity to recognise those educators who go above and beyond to make netball a vibrant part of school life. Let’s celebrate their hard work and commitment together!
