Quarter 2
Changes to the line-up saw Bryony Franks take to the court at WA and Rachel Borland move to WD. Brigg's defence continued to apply relentless pressure to achieve further turnovers whilst Jo Fillingham did exactly what a Centre (C) should do – effortlessly controlling the flow of the game and linking the play from defence through to attack. Brigg won the quarter 16 - 12 which meant a half time score of 30 - 23.
Quarter 3
Further changes saw Jo Fillingham move to WA, Rachel Borland take the C bib and Kelly Major move back to WD. Loughborough fought hard during this quarter and whilst Hewitt, Heald and Major continued to work well and turn over the ball, some missed attempts at goal saw the quarter score much closer: 12-11 to Brigg (overall score 42–34).
Quarter 4
Jo Fillingham returned to Centre for the final fifteen minutes, with Rachel Borland moving to WD and Bryony franks to WA. Brigg held on tightly to their lead against a very tough opposition. By now fatigue was setting in for the Brigg players but pinpoint shooting from Haswell and Antcliff gave respite to the team and the game ended with a final score of 54-45 in Brigg’s favour.
An excellent team performance made it difficult to select a ‘Player of the Match’ but the accolade went to Hattie Haswell for her movement and accurate shooting!
