Having now settled well into the game Brigg's defence dominated the play, picking up any misplaced passes from the opposition as well as forcing errors by restricting the movement in the shooting circle. Borland was impressive at WD working well with Fillingham to pick up any loose balls as well as stopping numerous attempts to pass into Grasshoppers’ shooters through tips and clean interceptions. Meanwhile Franks brought some attacking flare to the Brigg’s game by finding her shooters with ease through some creative movement and vision. Brigg extended their lead in the second quarter winning 14-8 (half time score 27–18).
Further changes to Brigg in Quarter 3 saw Hannah Millns return to the court at GS and Hattie Haswell out to GA. Brigg continued to push on forcing errors and intercepting balls up and down the court. Haswell and Millns worked well together to split the Grasshopper's defence and allow Fillingham and Franks to find them with ease. Meanwhile, pinpoint shooting from Millns meant that there were no wasted opportunities. Quarter score 19-7, overall score of 46-25.
For the final quarter Brigg saw Major return to court at WD and Antcliff back to GA. Brigg’s defensive play remained strong and Major particularly impressed by picking off numerous balls up court and creating turnover opportunities which were capitalised on.
