There were 6 entries, three from Lincolnshire, two from Leicestershire and one from Derbyshire. Matches were closely contested with some very tight results and a good deal of noisy support from spectators. Despite tremendous efforts from the other teams the two teams relegated from Division 3 last year fought their way back with Pennine the eventual (undefeated) winners and Sleaford Barge the runners up. Charnwood Sapphires will also be joining Division 3 as their first team successfully gained promotion to the Prem League today, leaving a gap for teams to move up. We welcome them all to the league for next season. Congratulations to Charnwood Netball Club who won a place in the National League, Division 3 this weekend at the National Premier League Play-Offs. Should you be interested in this, please contact: Andy Hassall, PE Subject Leader Jesse Gray Primary School ahassall@ga.jessegray.notts.sch.uk On the 1st day JMs started strongly with an epic win against Eagles. With 2 wins under their belt and only losing by 1 goal to Henley this gave us a strong position of playing 7 - 12th positions on day 2. We unfortunately was missing our star Defender Caitlin Urquhart for day 2 to injury, but the girls rallied round and was feeling confident for the day ahead. Start of the day saw a local Deby against MK Netters which was goal for goal until the last 5 mins of the game where MK pulled away. The girls came back strong and went on to beat Chevrons by 2 goals later that morning. Chevrons then went onto beat MK Netters, so we suddenly found ourselves waiting for results based on goal difference. Unfortunately 0.4 of a goal meant that we were playing off for 11th/12th against Grange Town who were a very physical side. We lost the play off by just 2 goals. |
